The world of design is a multifaceted space and it means different things based on the context and the field. My experience lies in Service Design, which ties together human, digital, and physical interactions . Good design meets functional and emotional needs of a user. By using the process of Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design methodologies, we can create a truly differentiated experience for the customers.
When you have two coffee shops right next to each other, and each sells the exact same coffee at the exact same price,
service design is what makes you walk into one and not the other.

Web Design
Interview about the telegraph and its role in society with Dr. Bernard Finn, Curator Emeritus of the Electricity Collections at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, Washington D.C.
Project
As part of a research team on Morse Code & The Telegraph, create a website to highlight this technology.
Design Specifications
The design of the website is meant to give a professional feel, by being well structured and organized. This website was created with WordPress. The telegraph as a communication technology is a simple technology, yet fundamental, and I wanted to reciprocate that in the design of the site. After researching and trying different themes, I decided to choose the Savona theme. It is a multi-purpose WordPress theme. It is fully responsive with a clean and minimal design.
Key principles for the creation of this website

-
User-centricity - The target audience for the site is Higher Ed.
-
Accessibility - The site is compatible with different devices, operating systems, browsers and is created with build-in responsive design.
-
Navigability - The site has an intuitive navigation, where the user can easily find what they're looking for.
-
Simplicity - Colors, typefaces and graphics make the look and feel of the site simple.
-
Visual Hierarchy - The arrangement and organization of the website elements is made in a way that users naturally gravitate toward the most important elements first
-
Consistency - The overall look and feel of the site is consistent across all of the site's pages.
-
Conventionality - In order to give the user a good experience when navigating the site, I've used familiar web design conventions.
-
Credibility - This website is used for academic purposes and the content of the site is heavily researched and reliable. You will also find a tab with the cited sources.

Product Design & Development

Project
Through an Entrepreneurship seminar, I had the opportunity to ideate an application called My Healthy Life.
Concept
A comprehensive product plan for a desktop/mobile application where health and wellness can be improved through a
personalized journey.
Research Methods used
Product Ideation, Roadmap, Market Research, Competitor Analysis, Website Mockup, Strategic Thinking, Agile Methodology
Product Description
How many times a day do you jump through different health related apps on your phone to do a quick workout, find suggestions about meal plans and healthy food options or just take a quick break for a meditation class? It would be much easier if you had all of these options in just one app that tracks your progress and keeps you accountable for your goal. I introduce you to MyHealthyLife, a platform where people can find guidance and advice on improving their health and living a healthier life. You would be able to work out and follow along with video and audio guided workouts by certified personal trainers, find meal plans to make it easier to eat better and healthier, and ask a doctor if you have questions regarding your health or just need motivation to stick to your goal. MyHealthyLife is the only app that you need in order to improve your health. This platform is tailored and customized to your needs, offering a personal experience specifically designed to help you toward your goals, whether that is to improve your chronic condition, get a guided workout done, relax through a meditative experience, or get a meal plan that is right for you. You can have all of these options and more in one single platform.

Process
For this project, I looked at technology trends and produced market segmentation reports; competitor analysis; financial statements; website mockup and wireframing, business case development; product evolution; and product exit strategies, while keeping in mind social media trends, buyer personas, user stories and Agile methods in the product development process.
